How to Make Monday the BEST Day of the Week

Monday is many people’s most dreaded day of the week. Most of us go back to our 9-5 jobs, kids go back to school- which means after-school activities consume your evenings, and damnit- it feels as if you’re at the base of the same mountain you found yourself at the previous week. Week after week, day after day, we find ourselves on the same trail up the same mountain. Then there’s that one agonizing day of the week; Monday.

How is it possible some people look forward to Monday? Well, my friends, I am one of those people!

Below I am going to uncover how you can start making Monday the BEST day of your week.

The first thing we need to do is to stop living for the weekend. 90% of society lives for the weekend because it is an escape from their current reality. It is a time to minimize their work-related responsibilities and catch up on the one thing they go without during the week- FUN!

To fix this problem we must reflect on our Mon-Fri schedules and pinpoint the things that make us feel suffocated.

Do you dislike your work? Are your kids in so many activities that you never get to take a break to just breathe? Do you neglect your own needs because you are putting everything and everyone before you?

When you’re honest with yourself, you will recognize that all the stress you carry during the week is your own doing.

You do not HAVE to work a job you hate. You might be rolling your eyes while reading this thinking, ” I have to pay my bills though”, there are PLENTY of other career paths and jobs available- especially after everyone quit working during the Covid pandemic. You just have to apply yourself and make an effort to go outside of your comfort zone. Minimize fear and harness faith within new opportunity!

As far as kids in activities go, they will survive doing less, I promise.

100 years ago, kids had a lot more appreciation for things because an after-school activity for them was rolling a tire down a hill.

Sometimes doing less is the answer to appreciating more. When I say “appreciate more” I don’t mean that in a materialistic manner. I mean you can begin to appreciate the small things that you were too busy to notice before.

Eventually, you will take note that they were the big things all along.

If your kids LOVE the activities they are in, having them pick the one they like best, is not only a great way to teach them to be a decisive leader- by teaching them critical thinking- but also to commit to something they are most passionate about.

In the end, you all win, and you get to keep your sanity in the process (not to mention, save a ton of money!)

When you begin loving the work you pursue each week and free up time once you clock out for the day, you will FINALLY have time to enjoy family as well as time to take care of yourself.

Binge watching Netflix, reading garbage literature, eating junk, sleeping, and doing things like partying your ass off is not the way to go about caring for yourself. These are the things people fill their weekends with when they are looking for that escape.

Once you learn to enjoy your life during the weekdays, you will begin to view weekends differently.

You will no longer feel like you’re climbing the same mountain over and over again , and you’ll begin to utilize the weekends as a resting platform before you ascend to the next peak of your mountain- which contains new views, new terrains, and new summits.

Weekends will be a time to incorporate fun care-free moments with loved ones, self-care dates where you can rejuvenate, meditations that bring you peace, goal planning so you never lose sight of your desires, organizing so you stay the course, and rest so you’re ready to move full force into the coming week.

When Sunday arrives, you will begin to look forward to the week ahead. Monday will no longer be dreaded but will be embraced. It is a day full of opportunities. It is a day of hope. It is a day of growth- where you can become the best version of yourself thus far.

As far as I’m concerned, Mondays are the new Friday! 😉
